This year marks the 32nd commemoration of this Genocide and our speaker, Survivor Omar Ndizeye, is an author and scholar whose research focuses on sites of memory, musealization, cultural mourning, and representations of memory in post-genocide Rwanda. In 2020, he published his memoir "Life and Death in Nyamata: Memoir of a Boy in Rwanda’s Darkest Church." Ndizeye is the founder of Inkuru Library, a digital museum initiative dedicated to preserving and sharing survivor narratives, artistic and literary expressions of genocide memory, and Rwanda’s history to educate younger generations about the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi, foster empathy, and support global genocide prevention efforts. Join us for a conversation between Omar Ndizeye and Dr. Asya Darbinyan, Chhange’s Executive Director, via Zoom.
