The idea for this documentary was born when its creator, Haim Hecht, a 2nd Gen Israeli journalist and film maker, traveled to Czestochowa, Poland, to research the story of his mother. While there, he met by chance Sigmund Rolat, a New York businessman, philanthropist, and Holocaust survivor who told him, I was born here, your mother was born here, and in the house on the same property, Bronislaw Huberman, founder of the Israel Philharmonic was born. The film interweaves the stories of a 1731 Stradivarius once owned by Huberman and now by the American violinist Joshua Bell, Sigmund Rolat, Hecht’s mother, and more...
